HIPAA compliance at Maqpie

Maqpie puts the appropriate Administrative, Physical, and Technical Safeguards in place to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of protected health information (PHI). By using the Maqpie messengers, an automatic BAA is put in place.

How do I make my account HIPAA compliant?

By default, all accounts are not HIPPA compliant. Please, contact us if you provide any Health Care services and we will switch your account to the HIPPA compliant environment.

How Maqpie protects standards intended to protect health data created, received, maintained, or transmitted electronically.

• Maqpie as your secure messaging solution removes any data containing PHI from the communication platforms such as emails.
• We limit access to any PHI information on Maqpie admin panel (for the HIPAA enabled accounts), so you don't have to worry.
• Maqpie HIPAA compliant messaging was designed specifically for healthcare. We perform all required technical and physical measures.
• We care about your data. Our staff has completed HIPAA training.

Technical details

• Data is encrypted when in transit. We use TLS(v1.2) RSA AES256 for any REST service calls.
• Our HIPAA compliant hardware is hosted on Amazon. We have executed BAA in place with Amazon and use their EC2 HIPAA compliant service and encrypted using AES-256.
